The LG 42LK450 Black Friday picture of this TV looks great. When I first unboxed and plugged in, the picture was very dim. If  this bothers you, you must disable the option to save power. It is very easy, but it is active by default the first time you start up. It ‘not a tv base with lots of bells and whistles, but if this is what you are looking LG 42LK450 Black Friday for then this is a great buy for the price!

Having said all this, this is a fantastic TV! LG 42LK450 Black Friday I waited to publish this in order to allow 12 hours to burn, but in reality from the get-go, the picture is fantastic! Rich, detailed and vibrant with very good depth. Flesh tones are amazing. The most accurate flesh tones and vivid that I’ve ever seen on any TV. I find the flesh tones to be the Achilles heel of most TV, but the LG is excellent in this way right out of the box. Overall, the picture is of course excellent even without using the correct settings to use the help of calibration PictureWizard. As others have suggested:
1) Turn off Auto Power Save
2) agree with "Just Scan" aspect ratio
3) I find the "standard" image settings to be more challenging compared to the "Cinema" (which I find too dark). The correct settings are perfect!

The sound is great! Much bigger than I could havenever dreamed of in-set speakers. I have the excellent "Clear Voice Ii" improvement in 3, and are blown away with how good this thing sounds.

I am a sports fan and I’m watching Notre Dame beat Pitt at the time. Even with the 60hz refresh rate, the picture is crisp and clear. FedEx said it will be delivered on September 23, so I took another day off work. It was finally delivered in late afternoon, Sept. 23, 11days after I bought it. So, apart from coming Kindle purchases electronically, this is my last purchases hear manufacture from Amazon.
